Exciting news! You can now add your PODERcard Debit to your preferred digital wallet. Digital wallets store a users' payment information and passwords for numerous payment methods. This means adding the PODERcard Debit to your Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay. This will allow you to complete purchases with just your mobile phone and/or other devices.
Any one of the digital wallet providers listed above will allow you to make secure and private in-store and in-app purchases at participating retailers. Instead of using your actual card number, the digital wallet provider you’ve selected creates a secure device or account specific number. Your actual card number is never shared with merchants or transmitted with your payment.
How do I set up my digital wallet?
Depending on the type of mobile device you use, you’ll be selecting the relevant service, be it Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay.
- You’ll need to create an account with that digital wallet provider, if you haven’t done so already
- You’ll need to add your PODERcard Debit into the system by manually adding your card information.
- You’ll also be asked to accept the Terms & Conditions and confirm the security code sent to your phone.
What types of devices can I use?
This depends on which service you use, however most of them work across multiple types of devices. For instance you can use Apple Pay on iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, MacBook Pro with Touch ID, and Safari browser (on Macs with the latest operating systems).
Are there any fees for using a digital wallet?
No, we do not charge any fees for using a digital wallet.
Can I see my account balance with a digital wallet?
No, the digital wallet provider you use will not have access to this information. You’ll need to log into your PODERcard app to verify your account balance.
Can I deposit cash to my PODERcard Debit through the digital wallet?
No, your digital wallet is only used for purchasing. In order to make cash deposits you’ll need to log into the PODERcard app, find a participating location and use your card. You can also add funds through a direct deposit or a bank transfer. See full instructions here.
Does the digital wallet work outside of the U.S.?
No, but you can use it anywhere within the U.S. Important note: It is not available in U.S. territories, such as Puerto Rico.
How can I remove my PODERcard Debit from a digital wallet?
Removing your card from a digital wallet is simple and just requires a few steps. Read on for detailed instructions on how to do so for Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay.
Apple Pay
To remove a card from your iPhone or iPad:
- In the Wallet app, tap to select the card you’d like to remove.
- Tap the More button.

Scroll down and tap “Remove This Card”.
To remove a card from an Apple Watch:
- On the Watch, tap the Wallet app.
- Tap the card you’d like to remove.

Scroll down and tap to confirm removal.
To remove a card from your Mac with Touch ID:
- Open System Preferences > Wallet & Apple Pay.
- Select the card you’d like to remove.
- Click the Remove button.
Google Pay
To remove a card:
- Open the Google Pay app.
- At the top left, tap Menu > Payment Methods.
- Tap the payment method/card you’d like to remove.
- At the top right, tap More > Remove Payment Method.
To remove a card from your Android device settings:
- On your Android device, open Settings.
- Tap Google Services & Preferences > Settings for Google apps > Google Pay.
- Tap the payment method/card you’d like to remove.
- Tap More > Remove Payment Method.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Samsung Pay
To remove a card from your phone:
- Open the Samsung Pay app, tap Menu (three horizontal lines) and then tap Cards.
- Select the card you’d like to remove, and then tap More Options (three vertical dots).
- Tap Delete Card, and select the reason why.
- Tap DELETE and then enter your Samsung PIN or biometrics/fingerprint .
To remove a card from Samsung Pay on a smartwatch:
- On the watch, press and hold the Back (top) key until Samsung Pay launches and when prompted, input your PIN.
- If you have multiple cards, swipe to the card you want to remove.
- Tap More options (the three vertical dots), tap Delete, and then tap the minus sign.
- To delete cards through your phone, navigate to and open the Galaxy Wearable app.
- Tap Samsung Pay, and then select the card you want to remove.
- Swipe up the card details, tap the Delete icon, and then tap Delete.
Am I liable for unauthorized charges made with my digital wallet?
The same protections that apply to transactions made with your card apply to transactions made through the digital wallet. See the Cardholder Agreement for details.
