Closing a bank account can sometimes be a necessary step, whether you're switching to a different financial institution or no longer require banking services. If you would like to close your PODERcard Debit, please call our Customer Care team at (833) 337-6337.
In addition, consider the following tips to ensure a smooth closure.
Gather essential information
Before initiating the closure process, ensure that you have all the necessary information at hand. This includes your account number, personal identification details, and any associated debit card information. It's also a good idea to review your account to ensure there are no pending transactions or fees.
Contact Customer Care
Reach out to our Customer Care team at (833) 337-6337. You can also email info@podercard.com, send a text message to 72237, or send a message via the Help Center in the app, however you will be redirected to call Customer Care if you choose any of those communication channels.
Once you have Customer Care on the line, inform them that you would like to close your PODERcard Debit account and provide them with the relevant account information. Our dedicated representatives will assist you throughout the account closure process and address any questions or concerns you may have.
Verify your identity
As a security measure, you will be asked to verify your identity to protect against unauthorized account closures. Our customer support representative will guide you through the necessary identity verification process. This may involve answering security questions, providing personal identification details, or submitting relevant documents.
Settle outstanding transactions
Ensure that all pending transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, or payments, are processed before closing your bank account. This will help avoid any complications or potential issues with your funds. Consider redirecting any recurring payments or direct deposits to an alternate account to ensure a smooth transition.
If you participate in the Rewards program, your future payouts will accrue on your SEP.com account and then be disbursed via a prepaid card.
Transfer or withdraw remaining funds
Once all pending transactions are settled, we encourage you to spend, transfer or withdraw the remaining funds from your account until your balance hits $0. You can do this by using an in-network ATM or by making purchases. If your account is closed with a balance greater than $1, a check will be mailed to your home address with the remaining balance. Be mindful of any applicable fees or withdrawal limits that may apply during this process.
Consult your Cardholder Agreement for information on fees and limits
Update your payment information
After closing your bank account, it's essential to update your payment information with any businesses or individuals that have your account details. Ensure that your new banking information is updated with any billers, subscription services, or direct debit arrangements to avoid any disruptions in payment processing.
Confirm closure
Once all the necessary steps are completed, confirm with our customer support team that your bank account has been successfully closed. Request confirmation in writing or via email, if possible, for your records.
Remember, if you have any further questions or concerns regarding the account closure process, our customer support team is always ready to assist you. Thank you once again for choosing our services, and we look forward to serving you in the future.
