You’ve set up your PODERcard account and want to start using it? Great! We’re here to help you learn how to add funds and get cash from your card. Below you'll find instructions on how to add cash to your account at one of our participating locations, as well as how to set up direct deposit, a bank transfer or a transfer from another PODERcard holder.
Depositing Cash
You can deposit cash to your PODERcard at thousands of participating locations nationwide, including:
- 7-Eleven
- ACE Cash Express
- CVS/Pharmacy
- Dollar General
- Family Dollar
- Kmart
- Kroger
- Rite Aid
- Safeway
- Wallgreens
- Walmart
Follow the steps below to find a nearby participating location:
Step 1. Log into your PODERcard application and click on the "Payments" tab at the bottom. Click on "Deposit Cash" at the top.
Step 2. Use the map to find establishments where you can top up and make cash deposits to your account.
Step 3. Once the map is updated you'll see ATMs or stores close to the zip code you entered. Once in the store, go to the counter and they will help you there. Note - ATMs do not accept deposits.
Important Note: We do not charge for depositing cash, but participating stores do. Stores can charge up to $4.95 when you deposit cash into your account at their stores. You can learn more about this in the deposit agreement.
Follow these steps to deposit money free of charge using a barcode
Step 1. Log in to your PODERcard app and go to the "Payments" section. Click on "Deposit Cash"
Step 2. On the next screen, click on “Select a retailer” to see the options menu.
Step 3. Look through the participating stores and select the one which you'd like to use.
Step 4. On the following screen enter the amount of money you want to deposit into your account. Click on "Get Barcode"
Step 5. Your barcode will appear on the next screen. Click "Save."
Step 6. Last step is to pull up your barcode from the "Deposit cash" menu and use it in store! Note that it expires one hour after it's created, so use it quickly. Show it to a staff member at the retailer you selected and you'll be able to make a deposit free of charge.
Deposit from another PODERcard
Transferring funds from one PODERcard account to another PODERcard account holder is very easy. They'll receive money instantly and at no cost as long as both have accounts with us.
Share the following steps with the person who you're effecting this transfer with:
Step 1. Log into your PODERcard app and click on the 'Payments', then select 'Send Funds' at the top. You'll now see new options before you, select 'Pay Friends'.
Step 2. In the following screen you'll need to select 'Send Funds'.
Step 3. You will then be prompted with the option to enter a cell phone number or choose an existing beneficiary to send funds to. Once you've selected what you wanted, click on "Next".
Step 4. In the following screen enter the amount you want to send and add a note or comment about the transfer. Once completed, click on "Next".
Step 5. Next, you will see a breakdown of the information you've entered. Click "Confirm" if you are satisfied with what you're seeing, or "Edit" to update the information.
Step 6. You're done! The money will be sent in real time and you will receive an in-app notification.
Once you've completed a few transfers you'll be able to see your history of Pay Friends transfers in the "Send funds" menu.
Bank Transfer
You can easily transfer money from another bank to your PODERcard account. Follow the steps below to initiate a bank transfer
Step 1. Connect to the external bank by visiting their site to confirm what information they need.
Step 2. To find your PODERcard account and routing numbers, visit the "Profile" section and click on "Accounts".
Step 3. Take note of your account and routing numbers, as well as the issuing bank name.
Step 4. Share the information with the bank. Provide them with your account number, account holder name, routing number, and bank name as it appears on the screen of your account details page.
Direct Deposit
This is the best way to receive your money regularly. You can deposit some or all of your paycheck each month, and you won't have to deal with a paper check. With PODERcard’s free ASAP Direct Deposit, you can receive your paycheck up to two days in advance*. Please see the FAQs about Direct Deposit for more information about how to take advantage of ASAP Direct Deposit.
Step 1. Log into your PODERcard app and click onto the “Payments” tab at the bottom of the screen. You’ll see “Direct Deposit”, click on that.
Step 2. You'll then see detailed instructions on the following screen. Write down or take a screenshot of the account details, as you'll need to provide this information to your employer.
Step 3. Contact your employer and provide them with your account number, the account holders name, the routing number and your bank name. It may take a few days for the connection to be established, if you need a payment in between then feel free to deposit cash.
Step 4. As soon as the payment has been received in your account you’ll receive a notification from us. If it’s not the right amount or is delayed don’t hesitate to contact us
Once you’ve set up your Direct Deposit you’ll be set and won’t need to touch it again, unless there’s a change in employment.
