Your PODERcard Debit bank account provides many benefits - being able to send money to friends and family, pay your bills, and more. However, if your account shows a balance less than the amount you want to transfer or send, then you will not be able to take advantage of these benefits. Read on to find out what happens if there isn't enough funds to cover a payment or transfer.
What to expect if your account does not have sufficient balance
There are several types of transfers that you can choose from with your PODERcard Debit. No matter the type, it's important that you know that the order will not be processed if you do not have enough funds in your account. Your transfer or payment will not be sent and we will attempt to notify you.
What should I do if my account does not have enough funds?
If your PODERcard Debit account does not have sufficient funds to process a transaction, we recommend depositing money into your account and resubmitting your transfer order. Please confirm that the funds have been deposited into your account before resending the payment. Remember that you are responsible for ensuring that there are sufficient funds in your account on the post date.

Can I have a negative balance?
If you do not have enough money in your account to cover the amount of a transfer, we may decline the transaction and not make a payment as stated above. However, there are cases in which we create a negative balance on your account by allowing the transaction, and this is at our sole discretion.
An example of such an occasion could be if you pay for a meal with the full balance on your card, and add a tip that exceeds the amount on your account, we'll allow the payment and subsequently, your balance will go into the negative. At a later time, when you deposit money back into your account, the outstanding overdraft balance will be automatically charged.
In essence, if your account balance falls below zero, you agree to pay the overdraft amount immediately when you have a sufficient balance in your account, without prior notice or demand from us.
Our approval of transactions that generate negative balances in no way obligates us to continue that practice at a later time. We may stop allowing negative balances for no reason and with no notice. In general, we advise you to avoid overdrawing accounts at all costs.
